It’s the great dream of every youth leader to hear their students say, “So, I was reading my Bible the other day…” with the same level of enthusiasm usually reserved for “I saw this one TikTok…” It’s exasperating to see students dive headfirst into silly or even harmful pursuits when their interest in spiritual things is shaky at best.
We as youth leaders know the life-transforming impact of the Gospel, but how do we get our youth excited about Jesus? One effective tool youth leaders can use to break through student apathy this year is a Gospel training event like Dare 2 Share LIVE.
Training teens to share the Gospel creates opportunities for them to trust God.
Knowledge about God doesn’t always translate into true passion or action—most youth leaders know this all too well. But when students get the chance to hear and understand the Gospel, and they dare to share it with a friend, their faith grows.
Evangelism puts teens in a position of risk. When they share their faith, they risk their reputation, friendships, and their comfort. Then, when they see God show up firsthand, they can’t help but be excited about Jesus! And even if they don’t get to see the fruit right away, the process of articulating what they believe often helps solidify it in their own hearts.
Events get youth excited about Jesus by shaking up the status quo.
Intentional youth events create an environment where students are more open to God working in and through them. When you take them out of their routines and comfort zones, they encounter God in a whole new way.
We see this when Jesus sent his disciples out two by two on a mission trip and they returned with joy and excitement. They said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name” (Luke 10:17).
