What do a roof, four friends, and a crowded room have to do with reaching teenagers with the Gospel? On November 13, 2021, just about everything!
This coming November, over 1000 youth groups from across the United States will come together for a live-stream youth evangelism conference and outreach event called Dare 2 Share LIVE. Students will be inspired and trained to share their faith in the morning, and then, they’ll get the chance to put it into practice in an outreach experience in their own community.
Groups will unite under the rally cry of #whateverittakes – a reminder that the stakes are high for this generation of teens. They desperately need the hope and love of Christ, and teenagers are the best messengers to reach their friends with the live-saving message of the Gospel. It’s time to do whatever it takes.
Whatever it Takes – 2021 Dare 2 Share LIVE Theme
At Dare 2 Share LIVE 2021, speakers Greg Stier, Zane Black and Jerrod Gunter will explore the story of radical friendship in Mark 2:1-12.
In the theme Bible passage, freinds do whatever it takes to bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus, including tearing a hole in a roof! They risked much more than getting their hands dirty. They risked their finances, their reputations and their safety, all because they believed in Jesus’ power to heal their friend. What they got was full restoration and forgiveness from the only One who could give it.
Through the teaching at Dare 2 Share LIVE, teens will be empowered to do whatever it takes to share the Gospel with their friends. Speakers will expand on these powerful messages:
1) What are you paralyzed by?
What’s keeping your friends from getting to Jesus? What’s holding you back from sharing with them?
“Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While he was preaching Godās word to them, four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat.”
Mark 2:2-3
2) What is going to heal your friends?
Our friends are searching for healing and hope in a lot of different places. Some good, some bad, but all will eventually fall short. Jesus is the only source of forgiveness and restoration that will never let them down.
“Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man āYour sins are forgiven,ā or āStand up, pick up your mat, and walkā? So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.ā Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, āStand up, pick up your mat, and go home!ā
Mark 2:9-11
3) G.O.S.P.E.L.
How do we share the Gospel in a way that is clear and relational? At Dare 2 Share LIVE, students will learn the G.O.S.P.E.L. acrostic, an easy way to memorize the full message of the Gospel. They’ll also learn how to bring God up in a loving and engaging way with their friends. During the event, students will use the Life in 6 Words app as a tool to help them engage friends with the Gospel virtually and face to face.
GOD created us to be with him. (Genesis 1-2)
OUR sin separates us from God. (Genesis 3)
SINS cannot be removed by good deeds. (Genesis 4-Malachi 4)
PAYING the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again. (Matthew-Luke)
EVERYONE who trusts in Him alone has eternal life. (John)
LIFE with Jesus starts now and lasts forever. (Acts-Revelation)
4) How do we break through?
Sharing the Gospel is not always easy. Teens will meet resistance, both from people and from spiritual forces. At Dare 2 Share LIVE, teens will learn how to persevere and keep praying, caring, and sharing with their friends, even when it’s tough.
“They couldnāt bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus.”
Mark 2:4-5
