How You Can Prepare Your Teens To Share The Gospel At Dare 2 Share Live

Imagine more than 50,000 teenagers and adults worshipping Jesus and spreading the gospel across the country at the EXACT same time!

50,000 teenagers x 6 gospel conversations each = 300,000 gospel conversations.

Thatā€™s what the heartbeat of our ministry is all about!

Dare to Share Live is a monumental faith-shift from the annual conferences that Dare 2 Share is known for into a single day focused on maximum impact. In the words of D2S Live Prayer Force champion Malachi Oā€™Brien, ā€œIt represents not playing it safe as a ministry and organization. The easy thing for Dare 2 Share would have been to hit ā€˜auto pilotā€™ and keep doing what they have been doing well for years with the city conferences. However, they decided to RISK IT ALL and do something bold by faith – to kill the conference tour in order to create the bandwidth and vision to exponentially reach more teens with the Gospel.ā€

This is a bold step toward our vision for every teen, everywhere, hearing the gospel from a friend. And we want you to be a part of this move of God launching a spiritual awakening across a nation!

Join Us on September 23!

Mark your calendars for the first ever Dare 2 Share Live where we are celebrating the gospel and equipping teenagers to share the gospel in their city. Weā€™ve set up the event so that time zone doesnā€™t matter. Everything happens at the same time from coast to coast – worship, speakers, and outreach activities. Join one of our 50+ church host sites on September 23, 2017 for this HUGE one-day evangelism event!

Malachi sees this event as ā€œa catalyst for revival in the next generation and youth groups across the country. It empowers and energizes youth groups and churches around the Great Commandment and Great Commission. In my opinion other ministries are watching to see what happens and I believe will look back and say, ā€˜We should have done that.ā€™ā€

How can youth leaders prepare their teenagers for Dare 2 Share Live?

Phil Hildebrand, VP of Ministry Advancement here at Dare 2 Share, reminds us ā€œat the center of it all, is a love for Jesus and a love for people. Students are given a framework to understand the beauty of the gospel of grace and to fall deeper in love with a Savior who died for them and gave them such an amazing gift.ā€ Youth leaders, you have a valuable role in facilitating your teens to reach a place where they fall in love with the Gospel message, and it starts BEFORE the event.

Here are 5 steps you can take to prepare your teens:

1. Memorize scripture
There are so many great passages that can help you lead a soul to Christ. By ā€œhiding the word in your heart,ā€ as David said, teens can speak confidently from the Word of God. A few of the verses are taken from Life in 6 Words, and we encourage you to check out all of the Life in 6 Words gospel message as well.

Matthew 28:16-20
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Romans 3:23-24
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Mark 16:6
And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.

2. Talk about Dare 2 Share Live every week!
Youth leaders, make sure you are talking about the event each week. Letā€™s be real, teens are overwhelmed by information these days, and the key to getting participation and creating excitement is to be repetitive!

3. Encourage your teens to be a part of the planning process
Do you have a talented photographer or videographer in your youth group? Do you have a teenager that is a great public speaker or super organized? Utilize the talents in your youth group to spread the word.

4. Prepare them for rejection (and success!)
Each conversation will go differently. Some people will ignore the gospel, some may argue, and others may fall on their knees. Prepare your teenagers to share the gospel with love and react with peace and grace. Even if a conversation is carried over social media or texting, rejection is real. It may take a nonbeliever hearing the gospel six or seven times before they accept it. Your teenager can be part of that path and plant the seed that someone else will nurture in the future.

5. PRAY
Join our D2S Live Prayer Force. We are asking for your prayers specifically at 9:23 every day (get it?) and on the 23rd of every month. Spiritual forces are at work AGAINST sharing the gospel, and we need to fight just as hard for the success of Dare 2 Share Live. Malachi said it like this: ā€œPrayer magnetizes our hearts to God’s heart and connects heaven to earth like NOTHING else can. Prayer says ā€˜God, we are weak and you are strong.ā€™ā€

So, what about after the event?

The Gospel is a heart-pumping, soul-searching, life-giving message, and it will change lives. There will be souls saved as a result of this event. Where will these new Christians go to grow in their faith and learn what it means to be a Christ-follower? Make sure your teens are equipped to not only share the gospel, but to direct new believers they engage with to a church family where they can be discipled.

What about when they get back home? The Gospel sharing doesnā€™t end when they get back home, in fact, itā€™s just starting. As Phil puts it, ā€œThe real mission field is the world they inhabit day-in and day-out. Teenagers who are intentional about sharing their faith are the ones that will change the world.ā€

Donā€™t just watch, join us in this movement to Gospelize the next generation.
