“One of the teens we Gospelized had a passion for outreach. He went to the park where there was a radical Muslim organization. They beat him very badly, and he’s still in prison and his punishment is death.” –Arif

This is the harsh reality that Christians in Pakistan are facing, says a Gospel Advancing leader named Arif. Pakistan is the world’s fifth-most populous country, and according to Open Doors, it’s also the seventh-most hostile country in the world to Christians. Of the 225 million people in the country, 63% are “youngsters,” which is the demographic Arif—and other leaders around the world—are working to reach with the Gospel.

Christians make up less than 2% of Pakistan’s population and face denial of rights, education, and employment because of their faith. They can be imprisoned and put to death for sharing the Good News of Jesus. And yet, believers like Arif don’t stop sharing.

As students have become Gospelized and mobilized, God has advanced the Gospel in Pakistan.

In recent years, Arif was able to attend Lead THE Cause. After attending, and amidst terrible persecution, Arif says:

“We have the spirit of boldness to give the vision for a Gospel Advancing movement everywhere in Pakistan.”

He says he left Lead THE Cause “filled with joy and peace and more passion for His work. So thanks, God, for this.”
