āOne of the teens we Gospelized had a passion for outreach. He went to the park where there was a radical Muslim organization. They beat him very badly, and heās still in prison and his punishment is death.ā āArif
This is the harsh reality that Christians in Pakistan are facing, says a Gospel Advancing leader named Arif. Pakistan is the worldās fifth-most populous country, and according to Open Doors, itās also the seventh-most hostile country in the world to Christians. Of the 225 million people in the country, 63% are āyoungsters,ā which is the demographic Arifāand other leaders around the worldāare working to reach with the Gospel.
Christians make up less than 2% of Pakistanās population and face denial of rights, education, and employment because of their faith. They can be imprisoned and put to death for sharing the Good News of Jesus. And yet, believers like Arif donāt stop sharing.
As students have become Gospelized and mobilized, God has advanced the Gospel in Pakistan.
In recent years, Arif was able to attend Lead THE Cause. After attending, and amidst terrible persecution, Arif says:
āWe have the spirit of boldness to give the vision for a Gospel Advancing movement everywhere in Pakistan.ā
He says he left Lead THE Cause āfilled with joy and peace and more passion for His work. So thanks, God, for this.ā
