As we continue to grow our student ministry and look ahead to next year we are planning on launching Cause Groups. Basically, these are Ministry Teams, but we are being very strategic and intentional by naming them Cause Groups. Let me explain (check out the video below):
So you see, Cause Groups do more than just service-oriented ministry or meet on campuses. Cause Groups are missional. They are Gospel-centric. Success for all of these groups (whether they specialize in drama, serving at nursing homes, or they are campus groups) is measured by the impact they make with the Gospel.
Here is a list of a few of the groups that we hope to see launched in the fall. Prayerfully, we will have students and adults raise up to serve on these teams and even create additional teams that we aren’t even thinking of yet!
- Drama Team
- Evangelism Team
- Campus Groups (1 on each of our 5 main campuses)
- Soup Kitchen/Homeless Shelter Team
- Mentor Team (Middle School & High School students who mentor elementary school students)
- Hospitality/Greeting Team
How have you setup your ministry teams? What types of teams do you have in your student ministry? Are the students involved in your teams focused on sharing the Gospel as much as they are serving in their particular area of interest? As we continue to build this aspect of our student ministry I’d love to hear your thoughts and be able to add to our Cause Groups based on what you are doing in your ministry!
