With the FIFA World Cup final coming up, many people have Latin America on their radar. The same is true for Dare 2 Share, which has recently had some exciting opportunities in this region. Through several events, we equipped youth leaders to build Gospel Advancing ministries, with the goal of reaching the 76 million teenagers across Latin America and the Caribbean with the Gospel.
Latin America and the Caribbean are complex regions. For starters, the language diversity is broad, ranging from Spanish-speaking countries to Dutch-speaking islands to more than 400 indigenous languages scattered throughout the area. Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Jamaica—each country is unique with its own culture, challenges, and spiritual climate.
Puerto Rico—the Start of a Movement
In November 2025, Dare 2 Share hosted the first fully Spanish-speaking Global Cohort on the island of Puerto Rico. The Global Cohort is a training event for high-level international leaders, introducing them to the Gospel Advancing ministry strategy. We challenged those leaders to return to their ministries understanding that evangelism isn’t an event but a lifestyle and their goal is not just growth but multiplication.
Movements begin with a clear vision. Youth leaders caught the Gospel Advancing vision to model a Gospel-centric lifestyle for their students, mobilize the students to share the Gospel, and multiply believers as the students bring others to Christ.
Though the region is complex, students understand their culture sometimes better than their youth leaders do. They know the language, the humor, the struggles, and the questions their friends are asking. When equipped, they become the most effective missionaries in their context.
Thanks to Puerto Rico’s strategic geographic location, the training event became a regional launching point for the Gospel Advancing movement in the region. Since then, leaders have joined the movement in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Barbados.
A Game-Changing Shift
One of the most powerful shifts in youth ministry happens when we move from teaching students about sharing their faith to mobilizing them to do it.
We saw that shift happen in Puerto Rico in November. We paired the Puerto Rico Global Cohort with a student activation event, during which 152 students went out into the streets of Old San Juan. They prayed, started conversations, and shared the Gospel. By the end of the day, 23 people had put their trust in Jesus.
It was a good reminder that when students realize that God can use them, their faith moves from passive to active. As youth leaders, we must constantly create moments like these.
Sharing Spanish Resources
A few months after the Global Cohort, Dare 2 Share set up our first fully Spanish booth at the Disciples of Christ Annual Convention in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. We distributed 120 Spanish copies of Greg Stier’s book Gospelize Your Youth Ministry to pastors and international guests. We also handed out 250 Spanish copies of A Generation in Reach, a report sharing the transformational effect of the Gospel Advancing approach to ministry.
Equipping Leaders to Multiply in Nicaragua
In March, we had the privilege of meeting with the national leaders of Nicaragua’s Assemblies of God. Two-hundred leaders from the region were trained in Gospel Advancing principles.
Spreading the Gospel Through Sports in Barbados
In May, we joined the Caribbean Sports & Leadership Movement (CSLM) in their first Caribbean leadership conference. At that conference, more than 75 leaders from 15 countries shared how sports can be a platform for us to share the Gospel.
CSLM global director Imran Richards asked us to teach the leaders how to use Dare 2 Share’s Life in 6 Words (LI6W) app as part of the multiplication strategy. This app guides spiritual discussions, tracks prayer requests, and provides a way to stay connected with your ministry group. By using tools like the LI6W app, students can start spiritual conversations and share the Gospel clearly. They can also use the app to track and celebrate those encounters.
A Bold Vision in Jamaica
At first, Toni-Ann, a Jamaican leader, was excited to find a Gospel-sharing app—until she saw something discouraging. As she browsed the stats, she noticed there were no Gospel conversations happening in Jamaica. For Toni-Ann, this deficit became a mission.
After learning to use the app, she made a commitment to equip her team with the tech tool and mobilize them to have conversations. She knew this task wouldn’t be easy, because Jamaica is still recovering from Hurricane Melissa, which hit the island in October 2025. But Toni-Ann saw an opportunity to bring hope to her devastated country.
What This Means for You as a Youth Leader
This article is more than just a report on Dare 2 Share’s influence in other countries. It’s also a call for you to equip your students right where you are. You don’t need a massive ministry or ideal conditions to make an impact. Like the leaders in Latin America and the Caribbean, you just need a clear vision and a willingness to equip students to act. With the G.O.S.P.E.L. acrostic and the LI6W app, your students can confidently share their faith with friends. And when one student shares the Gospel, the impact doesn’t stop there. It multiplies.
This year, the FIFA World Cup final can be an opportunity for your students to mobilize. A simple watch party can become a moment where your students naturally share the Gospel with friends—but only if they’re equipped to do so.
There’s a generation just waiting for a Gospel Advancing leader to lead them in sharing Christ. Don’t miss out on what God is doing through this generation, both in your youth group and around the world.
