Recap of Lead THE Cause Virtual 2020 – ACTIVATE

When our summer events got 2020’d

In late February 2020, when coronavirus rumors were flying, our leadership team sat down to have some really hard conversations about our in-person Lead THE Cause events scheduled for later that summer.

It was tough. We love the way God moves powerfully in the youth groups who attend Lead THE Cause each year. Incredible bonds are built by spending a week praying, learning and stretching our faith together. But, as with all large group gatherings this past summer, meeting together in person was not going to be possible.

So, out of a ton of prayer and only a few sleepless nights, Lead THE Cause Virtual was born! Over 140 youth groups from all over the United States participated (virtually) in the weeklong evangelism and disciple multiplication program. Greg Stier, Zane Black, Jerrod Gunter and Doug Holliday delivered powerful training and Polen Band led hearts to surrender and worship.

The result? Better than we could’ve ever imagined!

Although the summer turned out different than we had envisioned, we just can’t get over the impact of Lead THE Cause Virtual 2020! We’re so proud of the team that pulled together to make it amazing and the students and leaders who met the challenge by participating.

Lead THE Cause Virtual by the Numbers

Here is a quick recap of the impact of Lead THE Cause Virtual 2020:

1,242 participating students and leaders

4,968 gospel conversations initiated

61 made decisions for Christ

48 made commitments to missions

Through Lead THE Cause Virtual, youth groups across the nation were:

• filled with the Holy Spirit
• trained in disciple multiplication
• unleashed to serve the community and start gospel conversations

And they did so spectacularly!

In just a week, God emboldened these students to have over 4,000 gospel conversations. Imagine the ripple effect as these young leaders move into the school year!

Care Day was an absolute blessing!! We also saw God do some incredible things in the hearts of the participating students, including over 50 students accepting Christ during the event.

Lead THE Cause Virtual 2020 taught us a lot. We saw firsthand that the gospel of Jesus Christ can’t be contained by distance, fear, or even a pandemic. And now we know, more than ever, how powerful technology can be for training and unleashing the next generation.
