As a youth leader, your greatest interest is obviously in the spiritual well-being of your students. That’s why you wouldn’t pick just any event for your teens to go to. We assume an event worth you and your students’ time and money should meet a list of criteria before it gets a thumbs up.
You might have things like theological accuracy, affordability, proximity, and whether or not it’s interesting on your checklist. You’d also want to make sure it supports your ministry’s goals/objectives and is fuel for your bold vision. Does it nurture deeper student discipleship? Will it ground my students in biblical truths and give them practical application for everyday life? Will it encourage my students’ passion for their faith?
But is this asking too much of an event? Not at all! In fact, these were the types of questions we at D2S asked and put on our checklist when creating Dare 2 Share LIVE.
Here’s a closer look at the day and what you can expect to happen. (We’ll let you decide if it gets your thumb’s approval!):

Dare 2 Share LIVE’s Schedule
The Morning Session – Inspiration & Training
To begin with, it truly is “live“… The Inspiration Segment goes from 9:00-12:30 am on the West coast while simultaneously being streamed from 12:00-3:30 pm on the East coast.
From East coast to West coast there’s no delay! The reason for this truly live event is that we want all 50,000+ teens rallying together and experiencing the same thing at the exact same time. And what they don’t experience together in person, they’ll experience together virtually.
The event hashtag is a big part of this experience. Through it, we hope teens will get a sense of just how big this movement sweeping the nation is. They’ll read stories of good and “fail” gospel conversations, watch videos of teens talking about the experience, and see pictures of teens across the nation doing the exact same thing.
Training
The training session highlights the urgency of teens sharing their faith. Why should they should care, what is the gospel (GOSPEL), and how can they share it (Ask, Admire, Admit).
Of course, during any training, we always give the gospel message. That way any student, who doesn’t already know Christ, can have the opportunity to hear and believe.
Inspiration
So that D2S LIVE is a truly live and uplifting experience, each host site has a trained emcee to engage audiences between streaming sessions. Additionally, each host site has a worship band for an authentic worship experience.
From worship, to humor, to prayer, teens will not only be trained to engage in gospel conversations, they will also be inspired to unashamedly talk about the God they love.
To help inspire the teens for sharing their faith, we’ve invited a few artists to join us:
The Skit Guys — this talented duo wittingly combines faith and humor to teach God’s word
Propaganda – this poet, husband, father, activist & emcee keeps his audience on the edge of their seats with his bold message using rap, poetry and spoken word performances
Tenth Avenue North — this Christian band from West Palm Beach, Florida strives for one goal as they engage audiences with their songs: leading people on a journey towards God’s truth
With inspiration and more, teens are then energized to go out into their communities…
The Afternoon Session – Outreach (sharing & service)
The Transformation Segment of this event spans three hours in the afternoon. It includes service projects and gospel conversations.
For service projects, most of the sites are partnering with rescue missions across the country. Teens will help collect canned food for those in need in every city the event is being streamed. This becomes a great opportunity to engage people in spiritual conversations.
For the gospel conversations, our plan is to use a 3-2-1 Outreach Strategy.
3 — We’re providing social media based outreach videos and digital images for teenagers to use to spark at least three online gospel conversations.
2 — Our prayer is that every participant will be able to engage in two full gospel conversations (using our Life in 6 Words app or other faith-sharing tools) during the service projects.
1 — In the final segment, we will challenge every teenager to text one friend and initiate a gospel conversation with him or her over the phone.
The goal is to have 50,000 teenagers and youth leaders attend D2S LIVE. If every one of the attendees engages in the 3-2-1 outreach, then 300,000 gospel conversations will unfold in a single day from coast to coast! Which leads to the final segment of this power-packed Saturday…
The Evening Session – Praise & Prayer Celebration
The Celebration Segment is a prayer and praise party held to celebrate all that God did that day!
As we return from Outreach, a few stories from social media will be selected and streamed for everyone to see what is God accomplishing through them.
We believe that the gospel is the power of God that brings salvation for everyone who believes (Romans 1:16), and can’t wait to hear stories about lives being changed and all-around gospel advancement from all across the nation.
It will be a coast-to-coast party!
Following the Event
Following the event, students are prepped and ready to engage their friends at school throughout the year. To begin with, we encourage them to take part in See You At The Pole the week after D2S LIVE. This way, students can pray for their schools and friends and then pursue spiritual conversations with them afterward.
For youth leaders we’re inviting them to join us for a 4-week webinar series with Greg Stier titled Let’s GOspelize. The series will help youth leaders understand how to set their ministry up for ongoing gospel advancement. They will learn how to move the gospel in and through their students for transformational youth ministry impact. More details on this webinar series will be announced at Dare 2 Share LIVE.
