Conference Volunteer Team Descriptions
Security Team
The Security Team ensures the safety and protection in all event areas mapped out by D2S staff and Security Leader. The Security Leader will assign team members key positions throughout the venue. This team is designed to work with the venue security to main a safe and well-protected environment for students, staff and other volunteers throughout the course of the conference weekend. Security Team members must be able to stay calm under pressure and communicate in an effective and non-threatening manner. Amount of need for team will vary depending on city (average 8-10 people). Security Team Members must be available throughout the entire weekend. Attendance is expected by Friday, 4:30PM.
Ushering Team
The Ushering Team assists in the people-movement and seating of students throughout the conference. The Ushering Leader will assign posts to each team member to checks attendees' wristbands, seats attendees, handout notebooks and other duties as requested to assist flow and safety of the students. Amount of need for team will vary depending on city (average 20-25 people). Attendance is expected by Friday, 4:30PM.
Volunteer Logistics Team
The Volunteer Logistics Team acts as the human resource center for volunteers located at the Volunteer Check-in Booth. The team member will assist the weekend’s volunteers in checking them in, locating their team assignments and any other questions or concerns they may have throughout the event. Team Members must know basic math and be comfortable handling cash and credit card transactions. Amount of need for team is 1-2 people per city. Volunteer Logistics Team Members must be available throughout the entire weekend. Attendance is expected by Friday, 3:30PM.
Outreach Experience Team
The Outreach Team assists youth leaders in understanding the weekends Outreach Program acting as a customer service center at the Outreach Experience Booth. The heart of the Conference Weekend is the Outreach Experience that takes place on Saturday afternoon. It is a time when the students put into practice what he/she has learned about how to share the Gospel. Each church group will be given assignments to practice the Outreach Program and given supplemental information to assist them throughout the weekend. Amount of need for team will vary depending on city (average 4-6 people). Attendance is expected by Friday, 4:30PM.
Retail Team
The Retail Team has two locations – D2S Store and “Partner” Booth. This team will be in a busy environment constantly interacting with students and youth group leaders. Team members will be required to be on their feet selling product and re-stocking conference product. Amount of need for team will vary depending on city (average 10-15 people). Attendance is expected by Friday, 4:30PM
Registration Team
The Registration Team will be another point of customer service for youth leaders who come to acquire registrations for students at the Registration Booth. Team Members will be the first point of contact for youth leaders. It is important for the Team Members to maintain a servant attitude even in difficult situations. Team Members must know basic math and be comfortable handling cash and credit card transactions. Amount of need for team will vary depending on city (average 4-6 people). Attendance is expected by Friday, 4:30PM.
