Volunteer FAQ's
Q: Where do I check in?
A: Check in at the volunteer check-in booth located in the front area. You will receive your shirt and wristband there.
Q: Does Dare 2 Share pay for my parking?
A: Unfortunately D2S does not pay for parking for volunteers, so you will need to plan on $5-10 for parking depending on the venue.
Q: Does Dare 2 Share provide transportation from my home to the venue?
A: Dare 2 Share does not provide transportation for volunteers, so you will need to bring your own vehicle to volunteer.
Q: Does Dare 2 Share provide housing for volunteers?
A: Unfortunately we do not have the funds to provide housing for volunteers. However we do have negotiated prices with hotels in the area. Go to your cities page on the D2S website and look for "city sheets" which has hotel information on the second page.
Q: Where is the Lost & Found location on-site?
A: The Lost & Found is located at the Outreach Experience booth.
Q: What do I do in an Emergency situation on-site?
A: If you aid a student who has been injured please keep them calm and in the same place. Then locate a D2S staff member, venue staff member or D2S Volunteer Coordinator for them to follow emergency protocol.
Q: Can I bring my child with me?
A: Dare 2 Share does not provide child care for volunteers. Please plan to leave your child with a babysitter or, if they are of age to attend the conference, register them to attend the conference register them to attend with other students in their group.
Q: Do I get discount prices on tickets as a volunteer?
A: There are no discounts on tickets for students if you are a volunteer.
Q: Can I transfer my free ticket for volunteering to my child?
A: No, your registration is only good for yourself when you volunteer 8 hours or more.
Q: Can I serve 4 hours and still get in for free to the conference?
A: You must serve two out of the three shifts in order to receive the free registration for yourself.
Q: Can I invite my friends to volunteer?
A: Yes you can! As long as they are 18 years of age and a high school graduate they are eligible to volunteer.
Q: How can I get my friends signed up to volunteer?
A: The best way to get them signed up is to direct them to the website and have them fill out the volunteer form on-line. From there they will receive a confirmation in the mail or through e-mail outlining all necessary details.
Q: Can I leave to go and do the Outreach Experience with my group?
A: We encourage volunteers who are adult sponsors to be able to go on the Outreach Experience with their group. Please be back ready to serve at the time appointed by your Volunteer Coordinator.
Q: Why did I not get the team that I requested first?
A: It is probably because the team you requested was full or that we had another area of need that we placed you in.
Q: Can I volunteer more than 2 of the 3 shifts?
A: Yes please! We encourage you to prayerfully consider volunteering the entire weekend! We need you!
Q: What time do I show up to volunteer?
A: Please follow the time that you are assigned on the volunteer confirmation form you should receive once signed up. The below times are the different shifts that are available to choose from.
- Friday shift: 4:30PM -10PM
- Saturday 1st shift: 7AM - 3:00PM (1 hour break for lunch)
- Saturday 2nd shift: 5:15PM - 10PM
- All three shifts (Full Weekend)
