All Roads Lead to God

All Roads Lead to God

So what would you think if the next time you had math class, your teacher began by saying:

"Good morning students. Today I want to introduce a new way to do addition, multiplication, subtraction, division, etc. I know that you have always thought that 2 + 2 = 4, 5 - 5 = 0, 3 x 3 = 9, and so on- but I think it is arrogant and rude of us to think that there is only one way to do math. Why can't 2 + 2 = 5 if we really really sincerely believe it?"

I'm thinking that you would be thinking that he pretty much lost his mind - right? After all, there is only one way to do math. 2 + 2 will always equal 4, just like 5 - 5 will always equal 0.

It's called absolutes, because there are some things in this universe that are absolutely true regardless of whether you believe it. If you stand on railroad tracks while a train is speeding your way, you can have all the faith in the world that you'll come out undamaged. However, because of an absolute truth called "train is bigger than you", if you don't move, you're going to end up flatter than a pancake and looking very much like a grease spot.

OK - so we all know that absolutes exist, and if something is true, then the opposite is false, right? If 2 + 2 = 4, it can't equal 5. Those two formulas contradict each other, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that when things contradict each other, they can't all be right.

Right?

Except when it comes to the most important and critical subject in the universe - your eternal soul. Strangely enough, this is where normally rational and logical people decide to check their brains at the door. They know that when two or more things contradict each other, they can't all be true. That is until you talk about what happens when you die. At that point it's anybody's game - as long as what you believe is sincere.

But this is sincerely wrong, and I'll tell you why. Just like there are absolute truths in the physical world, there are also absolute truths in the spiritual world - and what you decide about them determines how you will spend eternity.

Wait a minute, if there are absolute spiritual truths, does this mean that there are absolute spiritual lies?

Absolutely. All religions can't be right because they all contradict each other. Saying that there are many ways to God is the same as saying 2 + 2 = 4, or 5, or 15, or whatever you want it to.

So the million dollar question is...which one is right? Last time I checked, a person has nearly 300 religious options. Yikes! Can we get any more confusing than that?

Which is why most people just give up and give in to the lie that there are many ways to God. It's like taking a test that gives you 300 multiple choice options...pretty soon you'd get so discouraged you would crumple up the paper and walk away.

But let me throw another angle your way. What if, instead of a test with 300 options, you had a deadly disease and 300 different doctors telling you they had a cure? The problem is that all these doctors contradict each other, so I doubt that you say - "they probably all lead to the same cure" and randomly choose one - hoping that it would all work out. You would interview each doctor, spend hours on Google, and get as much information as possible before you made a decision - because your life depended on it.

Guess what? Your life does depend on it...your eternal one that is. You have a deadly disease called sin, and one day you are going to die. You have 300 options that contradict each other as far as what to trust in for eternal life. The good news is that you don't have to do hours and hours of research, because one man put all the contradictions to rest and proved that He was the only way.

No, it wasn't Buddha, Mohammed, or even Joseph Smith. You can gamble on them if you want to, but my spiritual money is on the One who claimed to be God and the only way to heaven- and then came back from the dead to prove that He knew what He was talking about.

Jesus said:

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

Sort of exhausts the options, doesn't it? That's why when the disciples were ordered not to tell others about Jesus, they basically told the authorities they had to, because...

"There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them." (Acts 4:12)

Jesus is the only way to heaven, and when you think about it - that makes total sense. All other religions are based on works - having to do something to earn salvation, paradise, nirvana, whatever. Only Christianity is based on grace - having to trust something to receive salvation. This is one of the major reasons that there are other religions. Human beings are incredibly prideful by nature, and they want to feel like they did something to earn a cool afterlife. It is a very humbling thing to admit that you are a sinner and put your whole trust in Jesus' death and resurrection as your only hope of salvation. Most people won't give up their pride, so they just plug in to whatever religion feeds their ego.

The problem is that billions of people will die with great self-esteem and a one way ticket to hell.

Which reminds me...have you checked the destination on your ticket lately? If it says anything other than "Jesus - the only way to heaven", it's a fake. The only formula that works is this:

Faith in Jesus + nothing = heaven.

Do you have that figured out yet?

Head: What you need to know about this truth

Jesus is the only way to heaven. He claimed it and proved it by His death and resurrection. Any and all belief systems that deny Jesus as the only way to heaven are false and ultimately lead people to an eternity in hell.

Heart: What you need to feel about this truth

There are people who believe that all paths lead to God. They are right. All paths do lead to God: one to His mercy, and all others to His judgment. In other words, there are people all around you who are blindly running down a road towards eternal punishment. How do feel about that? How should you feel about that? I think you should feel like a fire fighter standing outside a burning building...highly motivated! The question is, do you care more about offending them, than where they will spend eternity? You have the life saving message that Jesus is the only way. Don't waste another minute!
